Blizzard aims to shake up the meta in Season 17(On June 24) with impactful hero adjustments, starting with a surprising size reduction for Bastion and balance changes for multiple heroes.
Scott Kennedy, a member of the hero design team, hinted to some of the hero modifications that will be included in the upcoming Overwatch 2 season in a recent blog post published by Blizzard while we wait for the Season 17 trailer.
First, the healing reduction for the damage role passive has been increased from 25% to 30%. According to Kennedy, damage dealers should be able to “better contend with the amount of healing that support Heroes are churning out.” One of the more notable modifications will be to Bastion, as the charismatic omnic will be reduced in its model. A 10% reduction in the hero’s size will ultimately result in a smaller hitbox and a more difficult target to hit.

When Season 17 launches on June 24, you can anticipate numerous small Hero balancing adjustments in addition to a smaller (and potentially more fierce) Bastion.
- Junker Queen will be a more viable offensive tank option thanks to significant adjustments to her Commanding Shout that prioritize ally Overhealth.
- There will also be some enhancements to the quality of life for perks like Lifeweaver’s Cleansing Grasp and Pharah’s Helix Shields.
As of now, the complete list of changes won’t be available until the Season 17 patch notes are released. In the meantime, you can read everything we currently know about the upcoming season in this article.
